The AI content site challenge officially began last week!

On Friday, I held a live call to review all the rules, answer questions, and discuss strategies.

If you missed that call, you can watch the replay right here.

And if you have additional questions or comments, you can always ask everyone inside the Niche Pursuits Community here.

Finally, I want to lay out some of the schedule going forward.

As part of the challenge, I’m requiring regular updates so that the audience can follow along. (The winner of the $2,500 must provide all these updates).

Here’s the update schedule for the Create a NEW Site Challenge:

      Oct. 7 – roughly a 2-week update
Nov. 1st – 1st full month update (report on traffic from October).
      Dec. 1st – Month 2 update
      Jan. 1st – Month 3 update
      Feb. 1st – Month 4 update
      March 1st – Month 5 update
      April 1st – Final Update!
(We will count the full month of March traffic to determine the winner).

Here’s the update schedule for the EXISTING site Challenge:

      October 20th – 30 day update
      November 20th – 60 day update
      December 20th – 90 day / Final update!

I will provide more details on what is needed in these updates. But essentially a short video and some stats.

I will also give you time to complete each update. So, if it’s the Nov. 1st update, you’ll likely have until Nov. 5th or something to complete it.

Finally, as a heads up, I will be looking for an AI Content expert to conduct an “expert” call sometime in October.

I’ll keep everyone posted when that happens.

      Thanks again!

      Spencer

How’s everyone’s sites going? I’ve been trying a few different approaches to ‘writing’ articles but here’s what seems to be working the best.

Use chat GPT to give me a list of 10 article titles relating to a sub-category of my niche. So say my niche was cars (it isn’t), i might say, give me 10 article about car racing, give me 10 articles about car tuning, give me 10 articles about car wrapping, etc.

Then i take each of those articles and ask chat GPT to write me an article outline for each title, including an introduction, a conclusion, etc.

Then i take each heading from the article outline, and ask chatgpt to write me 300-400 words on that particlar part.

This might be an example of my series of prompts:

      • Hello ChatGPT (always be polite)
      • Please give me 10 seo friendly, keyword heavy article titles relating to car wrapping
      • Please write me an article outline relating to (copy and paste one of the titles from above)
      • *** ChatGPT will usually give you a bullet point list of article discussion points ***
      • For each discussion point – Please write me 400 words about (copy and paste discussion point)

Then i tidy it up, add some external links, add some images, maybe place a few nice keywords etc.

      What’s everyone elses strategies?

This is a good SOP, and looks similar to how I have been doing it. However, for this competition, I plan to do it differently. This is solely because I will be running many sites (it was an experiment I had planned to do even before this competition came up), and I don’t think I would be able to feed all those sites enough articles if I follow this method. So, my plan is to use a bulk writer to generate the articles, and only polish them up when posting. Let’s see how it all turns out!

I haven’t started yet. I was really busy the day it started and since then I’ve become paralysed by making sure I do it right so I’ve done nothing. I think I’d better start so I’ve got something to report for the two week update haha!

Also came in the challenge late. Just bought my first domain name yesterday and installed WordPress. Will be doing keyword research over the weekend.

I have bought some domain names (on 22nd), installed wordpress (yesterday), and today I have been busy working on Search Console and Google Analytics. I already have 10 keywords for each site, so I will first work on those articles, probably before the end of the month. Will then work on more keywords and start ‘pumping’ the articles early next month. Success to everyone!

      Hi everyone 👋

My niche blog launched on September 20. Since then (2 weeks) I have published 21 articles and have 60 scheduled (1 per day).

I am a webdeveloper by profession so I created my own theme for WordPress from scratch – PageSpeed Insights score for it is 100/100 – and that’s what it was all about. Simple, but pretty design and perfectly optimized for SEO.

So far in Search Console and Google Analytics – no traffic from search engines. I have 5 subpages indexed out of 30 detected (should i use manual Request Indexing button in Search Console, or this is considered a bad practice and it is better to wait? 🤔). My goal is to schedule 300 more articles – for a full year, one per day. To see how it will go as an experiment. I plan to do that in October and then start a new niche blog.

I’m not participating in the challenge because I didn’t want to meet the conditions (video recording, giving accesses, etc.).

I am going to try something unique. I won’t reveal my niche just yet but I am trying to incorporate a lot of data in both my existing site and the new site. My new site will have a content template for a VA to use to build articles using ChatGPT. My goal is essentially to:

      • Have a repeatable SOP
      • Create a site that is more of a brand
      • Create a visually pleasing site

I think this site could potentially do well on Pinterest as well. If a Pinterest post shows up on the SERP (seems to be happening more after the “helpful content” update – sarcastic air quotes) does that traffic count as organic traffic?

        Hi Chris.

I think that the statement ‘Create a site that is more of a brand’ is the key here.

I refuse to come up with another fake author. This is a pretty darn valuable blog, on point, with a valuable catalog of knowledge. Yes, AI helped write the articles, but it is often far more helpful than most of the blogs out there. Our focus is on delivering valuable content in a “visually pleasing site”.

      Tom,

That looks like a solid plan!

Published 58 articles so far. The best rank Google has given to one of my articles is #7 for a keyword with a 5.4K search volume. Not sure if it will stick but I am hopeful.

Solid results! Especially on a high-volume keyword… Is this US traffic or another country?

        US traffic.

Just popped up on #6 today for another keyword with a 6k search volume.

I am publishing around 2-5 articles every other day. Focusing on quality rather than quantity. My end goal is, that even if I do not win the competition, I should be able to sell the website for more than the prize money.

Anyone else having issues with the forum? I usually have to submit twice.

      Here’s my First checkin video.
