Bio | I graduated high school one month after the Apple I computer was put on the market. I served in the Army in a Nike Hercules Air Defense Unit, where we used a computer to guide the missiles. The computer was a 2 1/2 feet thick cabinet roughly 25 feet long, and all it did was calculate the trajectory of the missile and send it to its destination. It could only control the flight by sending signals guiding the missile left, right, nose up, or nose down. We could hit a 4″ (10cm) square target on the ground from over 300 miles away. |
